We have been getting alot of e-commerce questions lately.  Basically wanted to put together this post to kind of give prospective clients an overview as to what a Web Inspired web solution can do for you.

Our current e-commerce web solution works with authorize.net and UPS. We have partnered with both companies and built an integrated web solution.  What does this mean to you?  This means that your shopping cart and e-commerce pages will look exactly like your current site.  They will be part of your current site.  Our solution will talk to the UPS api to calculate shipping automatically when the customer checks out.  When the payment information is submitted by your buyer our solution talks to Authorize.net over a secure connection, your buyer will know whether his payment has been accepted with in seconds of sending over his credit card info.

On the back-end you will receive a work order via email containing the product id's and quantities needed to fill the order.  The email will also provide you with the UPS shipping codes and shipping cost.  UPS will charge the client their published rates, you will be charged your pre-defined rate adjustment by UPS (call us if this sounds confusing, 866.217.9701).

All you have to do is package the order and setup a shipment with UPS.   Authorize.net will handle all the payment hassles and our custom code will talk to UPS to handle all the shipping hassles, all you have to provide them with is the code we will send you in the email.

Our solution also includes a custom JSF shopping cart that is very easy for your user to use and pulls data directly from your product database. As with all Web Inspired web sites, this is a completely custom solution.  If your happy with a generic, ugly Volusion website, this service is not for you.  We think that most Volusion or canned shopping solutions suck and look un-professional, this is why we build ours custom.
