Nynjlife insurance came to us to create a web presence for them. The company itself has been around for years yet they had been reluctant to get online after a previous web design firm burned them.

They wanted a platform to do three things:
• Get the company into google
• Have an editable resource for educating
• create an intelligent form for gathering the visitor information needed to create a quick life insurance quote

We started with a design revolving around a 960 pixel wide page to ensure the site would look great on all screen resolutions. Working with our client we picked out a warm color scheme and some nice beach imagery. It was agreed that the look of the site should inspire feelings of family and conjure memories of the family summer vacation. We want our visitors to realize how important life insurance is to family. We used all the content that the client provided for the copy and created some awesome pie charts to show some of the interesting life insurance statistics that they had provided. We decided against flash because we wanted the site to perform on the apple mobile platforms (they still can't handle flash).

With the sites foundation built it was time to start thinking about the applications. The first application to set up was the blog. The client wanted the ability to create and edit articles that would educate the visitors. I have been using Apache roller a lot lateley, it would work perfectly here. We set up our roller blog for the client and created the needed blog templates to ensure that the blog posts would look just the the pages we built. We then plugged the blog into Google stream to allow us to keep links to the newest content on the home page. The las ongoing step is to coach the client on how to correctly use the blog tool the correct way to keep with the look and feel of the site.

With the blog out of the way the form was next. We worked with the client to come up with the essential health and lifestyle questions that they needed to start a life insurance quote. The form also gathers the needed contact information so that a phone consultation can be made as a follow up. The gathered information will be sent via email to the quote team at nynjlifeinsurance. The form runs on jsf technology. We also spent extra time on the forms css so that it looked like it fit within the sites look and feel.

The resulting website is a beautiful, warm and modern. This is a site that truly will work for its owners. It is a resource that they can send thief clients to so that they can learn about life insurance. The website will also act as a means of gathering info about new clients via the life insurance quotation form. The final step is the ongoing process of del tweaking which will be documented in an upcoming blog post.
